Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center (VT PTAC)
The Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center (VT PTAC) exists to help Vermont businesses succeed in obtaining government contracts. The center offers free counseling services to Vermont businesses and provides assistance on how to bid on government contracts at the federal, state and local levels.
Authorized in 1985 by Congress, the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) was established to increase businesses capable of participating in the Government Marketplace. VT PTAC support includes registrations, identifying contract opportunities, and help in understanding the requirements in the preparation and submission of bids.
Procurement Technical Assistance Centers have been established in almost every state to provide direct services to businesses. To locate a PTAC in another state or territory, visit the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC).
Increase the percentage of federal contracts awarded to Vermont businesses with particular emphasis on contracts awarded to small businesses. The federal spending can flow to businesses either as direct contract recipients, or through subcontractors to prime contractors with federal government contracts.

VT PTAC can help with ‘matchmaking’ services to Vermont businesses by matching buyers with sellers through planned outreach events. These successful events ‘match’ small businesses’ products or services with the purchasing needs of prime contractors, federal agencies, state organizations and other PTACs. You’ll learn about eligibility and compliance requirements, plus attain valuable marketing strategies to spot the opportunities, streamline the process, and leverage your unique assets to secure government contracts.
Vermont National Guard Partnership

Working with the federal government can provide many opportunities to small businesses. To help business owners’ work effectively with government, the Office of Government and General Contracting works with Government Contracting and Business Development (GC/BD) program offices. This effort is focused on creating an environment where maximum participation by small business—including disadvantaged and women-owned businesses—can be achieved through support such as financing, training, counseling, communication, and procurement and legislative policies.
